The Mecklenburg County ABC Board operates all retail spirits stores in Mecklenburg County – they are NOT state stores. The North Carolina ABC Commission establishes the prices that all local ABC Boards charge for products, but each individual ABC Board makes decisions on how it chooses to retail to the public. This includes the selection of products offered, what stores look like (inside and out) and where stores are located

The Mecklenburg County ABC Board aims to:

• Provide customers with clean and convenient locations;
• Offer an excellent selection of spirits;
• Provide outstanding customer service; and
• Ensure that any person under 21 years of age or who is impaired is not sold product.

All sales associates receive extensive training, including instruction in Customer Service, Product Knowledge, Controlling the Sale of Alcohol, as well as career-oriented classes.
