MeckABC customer svc_2The Mecklenburg County ABC Board is only one of more than 171 ABC boards in the state of North Carolina.  All local ABC boards in North Carolina are governed by the North Carolina ABC Commission, which is located in Raleigh.  Mecklenburg County ABC stores are not state-owned stores, and its employees are neither state employees nor county employees; however, full-time employees (and some part-time employees) of the Mecklenburg County ABC Board do participate in the North Carolina Local Governmental Employees’ Retirement System.

The operation of each ABC board is funded solely through the sale of products.  This includes facilities and personnel costs.  No part of our operations is funded by property taxes.  The profits earned by each ABC board are distributed to local governmental entities, and also help fund alcohol education and rehabilitation programs.

If you are interested in applying for a job with the ABC Board, we encourage you to either apply below or by visiting our offices, which are located at 3333 North Tryon Street, Charlotte, NC. You may complete an application at our offices Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.  We are always accepting employment applications, although this does not necessarily mean we are currently hiring.  (Please note - application forms cannot be mailed or faxed from our offices.)  Application forms remain on active status for a period of ninety days from the day they are filed.

As openings become available, we review the applications on active status to select candidates for interviews.   If you are selected for an interview, we will contact you at the number provided on your employment application.   For most positions, it is the standard practice of the ABC Board to hire individuals to work on a part-time basis rather than hiring individuals directly into full-time positions.   As full-time openings become available, they are internally posted, to allow existing employees the first opportunity to apply for full-time positions. If you have already filed an employment application with us, please be advised that employment applications are kept on active status for 90 days from the day they are filed.  If it has been longer than 90 days since you filed your application and you wish to maintain an application on active status, you will need to complete a new application form, either online or at our office.

Please make sure the application is completed in full. If you put "See Resume" or "See Attachment" on your application instead of a completed application with detailed work duties, your application will NOT be given consideration in the hiring process.  Thanks in advance!

Thank you for your interest in employment opportunities with the Mecklenburg County ABC Board.
