Board Supports Moore Place

On December 18, 2009, the Board of Directors voted unanimously to support a project proposed by Urban Ministry Center.  Moore Place will be a permanent supportive housing project designed to target our area's chronically homeless.  With support services ranging from substance abuse services/referrals, to employment and education opportunities, concentrated effort will be directed to addressing the underlying issues that perpetuate chronic homelessness. 

The Board's support of $100,000 over the next two years will be directed toward case management services that will be available on-site at the 85 apartment complex.  Up to five licensed social workers will coordinate and provide services for residents. 

Joining other donors and organizations supporting an end to chronic homelessness and the myriad of co-occurring disorders, YOUR Mecklenburg County ABC Board strives to support services targeting substance abuse prevention and treatment.
